Webinar - May 8, 2013 Webinar: What the BUILD Act could build
Last month, Senators Lautenberg (D-NJ), Inhofe (R-OK), Crapo (R-ID), and Udall (D-NM) introduced the Brownfields Utilization, Investment and Local Development (BUILD) Act of 2013. The legislation would reauthorize EPA’s Brownfields Program, as well as expand non-profit eligibility to receive brownfields grants and allow the EPA to award flexible multipurpose grants to take into account the varied nature of many projects.
Since the bill was introduced we have been profiling successful brownfields redevelopment from across the country. Learn more about what the BUILD Act could build or voice your support for the BUILD Act: send a letter to your Senators today
Join us for a webinar on May 8 at 2:00 pm EDT. We will discuss the BUILD Act, changes to the Brownfields Program, and how you can speak out and share your story. Learn more and register.

Session Highlight: Brownfields Breed Connectivity in Gainesville, GA
Gainesville, Georgia is home to a new green space built upon a former brownfield. The Midtown Greenway was once a railroad maintenance yard and a stretch of abandoned railroad corridor. Gainesville purchased the 11.6-acre property from CSX Transportation, Inc. in 2009. As part of their purchase agreement with the city, CSX conducted all of the site investigation and environmental remediation under oversight from the Georgia Brownfields Program.
